OUTLOOK ’17: US PP could see sellers’ market in 2017 With the threat of imports over in the US polypropylene (PP) market and inventory levels in decline, buyers could see the balance of power shift back to producers in 2017. “Margin expansion is a definite threat in 2017,” a veteran PP watcher said. That raises the spectre of 2015, when PP producers expanded their margins by 1-2 cents/lb each month as feedstock propylene declined.
